A DeLand Walmart convenience store cashier was arrested after investigators say she hid a receipt tied to a winning Florida Lottery ticket belonging to an elderly customer.

Volusia County deputies charged 40-year-old Tameka Hall with felony grand theft after the incident at the South Woodland Boulevard store. Officials say the victim came in Sunday morning to claim $2,700 in lottery winnings and was given instructions by Hall on how to redeem the prize. Hours later the man returned after realizing he had not received the required receipt, and store management reviewed surveillance footage that allegedly showed Hall folding the receipt and slipping it into the left pocket of her uniform vest before leaving her shift. Deputies arrested Hall after reviewing the video and investigating the claim.
