A commemorative photo exhibition marking the 150th birth anniversary year of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, was inaugurated today at the historic Rami Library in Istanbul.
The event brought together distinguished guests, including Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkiye Dr. Yousaf Junaid, Deputy Governor Istanbul Mehmet Sülün, Eyüpsultan Kaymakam Dr. Arslan Yurt, Rami Library Director Ali Çelik along with diplomats, academics, media and members of the Pakistani diaspora in Turkiye. The exhibition jointly organized by the Pakistan Embassy in Ankara, Albayrak Media Group, and Rami Library featured rare photographs highlighting Jinnah’s life, political struggle and leadership, offering visitors a comprehensive visual portrayal of his political journey and legacy.
In his keynote address, Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid reflected on Jinnah’s journey from a distinguished barrister to a transformative statesman, emphasizing his belief in law, dialogue, and political dignity. He highlighted Jinnah’s lifelong commitment to constitutionalism, democratic principles, and principled leadership, noting that his legacy continues to inspire nations across the world.
Ambassador Junaid underscored that Jinnah’s vision of Pakistan was rooted in rule of law and inclusive governance, as articulated in his historic 11 August 1947 address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan. Ambassador Junaid further highlighted Jinnah’s guiding philosophy of “Unity, Faith, and Discipline” as a timeless framework for nation-building.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Governor Istanbul, Mehmet Sülün, paid tribute to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as one of the most significant political figures of the twentieth century. He appreciated the collaborative efforts of the organizing institutes for presenting the legacy of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to an international audience through this exhibition.
Renowned scholar Prof. Dr. Davut Shahbaz, speaking on the occasion, also highlighted the life, vision, and enduring legacy of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He emphasized Jinnah’s contribution to constitutional politics and his vision of a modern, democratic, and inclusive state.The exhibition will remain open to the public, offering visitors an opportunity to engage with the life and legacy of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah through a rich visual experience. The event also reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye, reflecting shared values of history, culture, and mutual respect.
