Pakistan voiced serious concern over the escalating conflict in Ukraine at a United Nations Security Council meeting on 22 June 2026, urging an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to diplomatic talks.

Deputy Permanent Representative Ambassador Usman Jadoon warned that the widening battlefield has intensified civilian suffering and damaged critical infrastructure, and he stressed that all parties must fully comply with international law, including International Humanitarian Law, to protect civilians. Pakistan called for confidence-building measures, the revival of the U.S.-facilitated dialogue process, and a mutually acceptable settlement consistent with the UN Charter and relevant multilateral agreements. Ambassador Jadoon reiterated Pakistan’s demand for an immediate and complete ceasefire and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at a just, comprehensive and durable peace in Ukraine.
